TI Goals Supported | C-1, S-2, P-3 |
Focus Area | Coatings/Corrosion Control |
Platform General | Ship |
Platform Specific | All |
Implemented Technology | Digital |
Problem Definition |
The methods currently employed for these measurements is analog in nature and requires both significant time and labor to performance. |
Proposed Solution |
Taking advantage of current electronic collection systems, these new tools will also allow for the automatic recording of data into a data base. The net effect of using these new technologies will be to significantly reduce the time (and cost) associated with the tank quality insurance inspections |
Expected Result |
This initiative seeks to replace the current methods used to measure surface profile, conductivity and dry film thickness with new methods to reduce the time and effort required to verify conditions exist for coating application. |
