| Problem Definition |
Current test methods for both PCBs and Pb/Cr in paint on ship surfaces required physically scraping paint off the surface, sending it to a laboratory, and waiting up to several weeks for the test results. This is both labor intensive and time consuming; it also results in long delays in scheduling of repair and demolition work. |
| Proposed Solution |
Develop, test, and evaluate hand-held or portable analyzers for in-situ testing. |
