| Platform General | Ground Vehicle (Tracked or Wheeled) |
| Platform Specific | All ground vehicles and workload |
| Implemented Technology | Kinetic spray application equipment |
| Problem Definition |
Current thermal spray technologies that are in use in the depots must overcome several shortcomings (heat input, lack of mobility, applications, etc.). Depots need a repair process that is effective for varied applications, is inexpensive, portable and easy to operate. |
| Proposed Solution |
Develop kinetic spray combinations for use in various corrosive environments and a subsequent application process in a viable, relatively portable manner to reduce corrosion damages to vehicles thereby allowing for longer field use and less overall maintenance. |
| Expected Result | Improved repair and corrosion capability. |
| Benefits | Provide depot with portable metal working technology |
