JTEG Webpage Design
Today’s session focused on the JTEG webpage design. The webpage is available at http://jteg.ncms.org. Currently, a login and password (provided by NCMS) are required to access the website.
Comments and actions from 18 October are captured below:
- The “Points of Contact” tab:
- Need to update the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard POC (Kurt & Debbie)
- Need to add other NAVAIR POCs and FRC POCs (Tim)
- Need additional Army POCs identified. OSD will send to Robert Dittmann for concurrence (Debbie & Greg K)
- Nearly 1,000 files from the old JTEG Website are loaded on CDs provided by NAVAIR. NCMS will give the disks to OSD/LMI, who will review and perform a “level one” filter to determine which files should be loaded to the new website.
- NCMS described the form on the website used to “Submit a Project Idea”. A space to add a “Title” will be added to the form. (NCMS)
- A flow diagram depicting the “JTEG Idea and Project Submission” was added to the “Working Area”. JTEG members are encouraged to review the diagram and provide comments/suggested changes to LMI. (All)
- A notification email will automatically be sent to all the principals when a project idea is submitted. LMI will draft the email to be used. (LMI)
- The group decided that the JTEG Principals should have the ability to make changes/additions to the Project Idea Submission form. This will allow the principals the flexibility to provide clarification on the submissions. (NCMS)
- An automatic reply will be sent to the submitter when the JTEG Principal approves the submission for posting. LMI will develop the reply. (LMI)
- It was agreed that the “Tech Corner” Tab should have a pull-down menu listing the following: (NCMS)
- Focus Area Definitions
- Technology Ideas
- JTEG Projects
- On the “Tech Corner” webpage, NCMS added a graphic of a “virtual depot maintenance facility” with active buttons embedded within the graphic that take users to one of 12 technology focus areas when clicked. Once a focus area is opened, ideas posted within that area will be listed alphabetically, and project numbers will be listed by project number. NCMS will work the design display (NCMS)
NEXT JTEG MEETING: Target time/date is 1000 EST, on 1 November, 2012. Need to coordinate with calendars.
