On 4 March 2015 the Joint Technology Exchange Group (JTEG) Principals and representatives conducted a monthly teleconference to discuss the JTEG technology forums and the JTEG Website. A brief summary of the teleconference follows:

Exoskeleton: iHAS and Zero-G Arm Forum:

The group discussed the forum that was conducted on 24 February.  Feedback has been very positive. The possible reallocation of the Zero-G arms currently located at Tinker AFB and RRAD were discussed. Luke Burke is going to contact the Tinker AFB POCs to assist in the determination of what to do with that Zero-G arm. NCMS will work the RRAD Zero-G arm.

Corrosion Prevention and Repair Forum:

The next JTEG forum is on Monday, 30 March, and will be on corrosion prevention and repair. Rich Hayes of the OSD Corrosion Office will provide the overview and is currently contacting the military Service corrosion “czars” to present the individual Service views/updates. The plan is for the Services to brief their corrosion office/program structure and highlight a few select corrosion programs. (Agenda & Astract Attached)

Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Forum:

There will be a JTEG Technology forum on NDI on 28 April. Tom Naguy mentioned a POC at the WPAFB NDI Program Office, Mike Polk (?), who Tom would contact. They are working numerous NDI initiatives to include robotic NDI. Greg Russell mentioned that PSU is working on a new technology that inspects armor for cracks through paint. He will contact them and provide the POC. It was also stated that Northrup Grumman has a new hand-held technology. Kurt Doehnert identified a NAVSEA A4 rep named Jason Hence who is a SME, and Kirsten Green who spoke at the last CTMA Partner’s Meeting. Yogi remarked that he would provide a POC for NAVAIR. It was agreed that a 2 hour virtual forum is a good target to aim for.

New Site Map for JTEG Website:

Doug Brown of NCMS described some recommended changes to the JTEG website to simplify navigation of the site and to better organize the information that we post and exchange. (See Attached Site Maps. Everyone agreed to the changes which he estimates will take 3-4 weeks to complete. We will schedule a follow-up for early April. The current JTEG website will continue to operate as is during this time. Greg Kilchenstein mentioned that he would like to see JTEG add a collaboration area. It was mentioned that MilSuite is an existing collaboration tool already used by some JTEG members, and it may be possible to link the JTEG website to MilSuite.

Other Business:

JSWAG – Greg Kilchenstein stated that he was speaking at the Joint Services Wiring Action Group (JSWAG) Technical Interchange Meeting on 24 March to provide an overview of why wiring maintenance is so important.

CTMA Partners’ Meeting: Debbie Lilu sent a copy of the 2015 CTMA Partners’ Meeting to everyone. The JTEG Principals were asked to review the agenda and help determine if the correct POCs, or any additional POCs, are being targeted for the appropriate areas.
