Deployable flexible Hoeline Distribution System |
| Problem Definition |
An automated planning tool to support the planning and layout of an Assault Hoseline distribution system up to ten miles in length that accounts for terrain related constraints has been identified as a critical Warfighter need. |
| Proposed Solution |
After technical review and discussion between ARL, TARDEC, CASCOM, and PM Petroleum and Water Systems (PM PAWS), it has been determined that previous work done by ARL under an SBIR initiative (A99-112) and spin off technologies for the Rapidly Installed Fluid Transfer System (RIFTS) can be leveraged and quickly updated with additional technical features to provide a geospatial analysis tool for PAWS planning of the Assault Hoseline System |
| Expected Result |
- (1) Completed demonstration of an assault hoseline fuel distribution plan for a terrain scenario up to ten miles in length.
- Validation that the distribution plan accurately accounts for terrain and environmental concerns.
|
| Benefits |
ARL’s logistic decision support technology automates the trace planning process by providing:
- Easy ingestion of the necessary NGA terrain data
- Required knowledge encapsulation
- Terrain analysis
- Map-based visualization, manipulation and
